Richard Childress Racing (RCR) was founded in 1969 by current chairman, CEO, and NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Richard Childress, and has since become one of the most storied organizations in NASCAR. Throughout its history, RCR has won 16 championships and achieved more than 200 victories in motorsports.

RCR strives for peak performance, making it the perfect partner for American Ethanol. We work together to show fans across the country – and around the world – that ethanol delivers the octane and reliability that drivers need on and off the racetrack to meet and exceed their performance needs.

We proudly sponsor Austin Dillon, two-time NASCAR champion, 2018 Daytona 500 winner, and driver of the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the NASCAR Cup Series for Richard Childress Racing. Austin scored his first Cup Series win in 2017 at the Coca-Cola 600, and has appeared in the NASCAR Playoffs in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 seasons.

“I think the best thing about American Ethanol is we can prove the performance on the track. That’s why it relates so well to what we’re doing here in NASCAR. We’re putting a lot of miles on it. Hard miles. Durable miles. When you can go out and run in a race car, there’s no doubt it will be a proven product in a street car.”  – Austin Dillon No. 3

Ethanol promotes energy security and national security by reducing the need to import foreign oil. Austin's patriotic paint scheme during NASCAR Salutes Refreshed by Coca-Cola campaign was an homage to our U.S. Armed Forces veterans

The Richard Childress Racing headquarters is also home to ECR Engines, a subsidiary of RCR that builds high-performance motors for RCR and other Chevrolet teams in NASCAR’s three national series. ECR offers cutting edge advanced technological research and design capabilities, along with a wealth of experience and success in the realm of engine building. American Ethanol is proud to work with ECR in conjunction with Richard Childress Racing to show other automotive industry professionals that ethanol is the smart choice to achieve maximum performance in racing vehicles and production cars.

“Ethanol is the safest, least expensive octane booster.”
– Dr. Andy Randolph, ECR Engines Technical Director
